HANDBUCH DER PHYSIK

The Handbuch der Physik (Encyclopedia of Physics), ed. by S. Flügge, consists of a total of 55 volumes in 78 parts, as listed below. The current Handbuch is an update of an earlier edition published between 1926 and 1933 by H. Geiger and K. Scheel.

The volumes of the current edition of the Handbuch were published between 1955 and 1988. They contain a total of 389 articles, of which 289 (74%) are in English, 77 (20%) are in German, and 23 (6%) are in French. A complete set of the Handbuch der Physik requires about 8 feet (2.4 meters) of bookshelf space.
